Some fans came up with this theory based on the books, and it has much more credibility than you might initially expect.
The story goes that King Aerys, father of Daenerys, was infatuated with Tywin’s wife, Joanna.

At the wedding of Tywin and Joanna, he lamented the lack of first bedding rights traditionally given to the king.
Following on from this, he “took certain liberties” during the bedding ceremony. Some fans believe Aerys, either by seduction or force, continued a relationship with Joanna.

This relationship eventually led to the birth of Tyrion, giving him Targaryen blood, the blood of the dragon.
This betrayal also explains Tywin’s violent hatred towards Tyrion, and especially his complaint that “I cannot prove you are not mine”.

It gives a clear reason for his refusal to make Tyrion the heir to Casterly Rock, as well as his refusal to give any responsibility to his “son.”
Tyrion’s physical description in the books is actually closer to Targaryan than Lannister, with white-blond hair and different-coloured eyes.
The different-coloured eyes is a particularly compelling detail, as it implies two different lines coming together, as well as one of them being very dark, like Dany’s.
Tyrion’s personality also shows signs of not being truly Lannister, as he is described as having “a morbid fascination with dragons”, and a bookish inclination, much like Rhaegar Targaryen.

He explains how he dreamt of dragons, which Daenerys is also described as doing, and implies he knows that Jon Snow has dreamt of dragons as well.
The most important reason for this theory is a prophecy given to Daenerys in the House of the Undying: “The dragon has three heads.”

This therefore requires another Targaryen to fulfill the prophecy, alongside Dany and (possibly) Jon.
Additionally, a dragon must be “born of blood”, and Jon, Dany, and Tyrion all had mothers who died giving birth to them.
And in the last moments of his life, Tywin says what he has suspected for many years, which fans have interpreted as the final confirmation that Tyrion is not truly a Lannister.

It has also been pointed out that Tyrion is such a major character throughout the series that his eventual importance makes a lot of sense.
If both theories were true, this would make Jon the nephew of Daenerys and Tyrion, who are half-brother and sister.
And if Tyrion IS indeed a Targaryen, what impact does that have on the rest of the series?
It leaves open the option for him to unite with Daenerys, which would be a fascinating alliance. And if Jon is indeed also part Targaryen, it could mean a three-way alliance to bring the Targaryens back to throne.
It could also change the order of succession for the Targaryen throne, moving Tyrion after Jon, with Daenerys in third, assuming their nature as bastards is no impediment. Of course, being Westeros, it’s most likely that whoever has the biggest army will succeed.
Or the most dragons.
So, is Tyrion secretly a Targaryen? Will the series eventually lead to Tyrion riding a dragon?

RispondiEliminaChe tu sappia tutto su luoghi e personaggi dei romanzi di Tolkien lo posso pure capire, dato che sono testi abbastanza datati e su cui hanno anche scirtto parecchio, ma su Got, di cui ancora devono uscire i libri finali????
In ogni caso sono sempre molto interessanti questi post, ed effettivamente mi aiutano a far luce su parecchi aspetti poco chiari della saga che se non fosse per le tue spiegazioni, per me rimarrebbero oscuri.
Ora che Tyrion abbia un'origine strana e misteriosa è sicuro: ma che sia addirittura il fratellastro di Daenerys mi sembra incredibile!!!
Cioè, in base alla spiegazione sarebbe plausibilissimo, ma mi sembra un pò semplicistico ricondurre tutti i principali personaggi positivi della serie alla stessa dinastia (della quale tra l'altro se ne dicono peste e corna)...
In ogni caso, questa è di certo una storia che non manca di sorprese e colpi di scena, quindi può essere tutto ed il contrario di tutto: non ci rimane che aspettare e stare a vedere! ;D

Teniamo presente che comunque Tyrion rimarrebbe sempre un Lannister, in quanto figlio di lady Joanna Lannister, che era una Lannister di nascita, cugina di primo grado di suo marito lord Tywin, quindi sicuramente Tyrion erediterà Castel Granito e i possedimenti di famiglia, oltre che continuare la dinastia (forse addirittura consumando il matrimonio con Sansa Stark...)
Tyrion ama i draghi fin da bambino e tutti gli indizi indicano che sarà lui la "Terza testa del Drago" e nel prossimo romanzo, The Winds of Winter, finalmente incomincerà a fraternizzare con uno dei due draghi rimasti prigionieri nelle segrete di Meeren: questo lo ha anticipato lo stesso zio Martin, facendo balenare la prospettiva di un'uscita di The Winds of Winter entro la primavera del 2015, il che significherà avere la traduzione tra un anno...
Hai assolutamente ragione nel dire che è un po' semplicistico riconurre tutto ai Targaryen, considerando anche John Snow come figlio di Rhaegar e quindi come cavaliere del drago Rhaegel, ma bisogna pensare che quando Martin concepì la trama, pensava ad una normalissima e breve trilogia, piuttosto scontata, e che soltanto dopo l'inaspettato e globale successo si è deciso a modificare e complicare la trama, anche se alcuni elementi restano difficili da cambiare, anche per rispetto al lettore che non si era accorto di niente e che proverebbe una genuina sorpresa nel sapere che Tyrion e Jon hanno sangue Targaryen nelle vene.
In ogni caso, come dici tu, da Martin possiamo aspettarci qualsiasi cosa e quindi può succedere tutto e il contrario di tutto e magari persino che a vincere il gioco del trono sia Cersei Lannister dopo aver fatto fuori tutti gli altri, figli compresi!!! :-D
