L'85% della città di Aleppo è stata liberata nella giornata di ieri. L'esercito regolare siriano del Presidente Assad ha ripreso il controllo della Città Vecchia e dei quartieri circostanti, come quelli di Marjeh, Sheikh Said e Salah al-Din.  I terroristi di Al-Nusra/Al-Qaeda, sostenuti da Turchia e Arabia Saudita. controllano ormai soltanto una zona a sud della città, del raggio di 2,5 chilometri e sembrano vicini a trattare la resa.

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (7:15 P.M.) - The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is rolling in jihadist-held east Aleppo, capturing several districts that were once considered untouchable for their forces and allies.

Over the course of two weeks, the Syrian Arab Army, primarily the Tiger Forces and Republican Guard, have managed to capture 65 percent of the jihadist-held east Aleppo pocket, leaving Fatah Halab and Jaysh Al-Fateh with their backs against the wall at the southern corridor near the Aleppo International Airport.

On Tuesday, the Tiger Forces and their allies continued their wide-scale assault in east Aleppo, seizing 5 districts after a fierce battle with the jihadist rebels of Fatah Halab.

Among the many sites captured by the Syrian Armed Forces on Tuesday was the strategic Al-Sha'ar District, which had been one of the longest-held districts under the opposition's control.

In addition to capturing Al-Sha'ar, the Tiger Forces and Desert Hawks Brigade advanced at both the Sheikh Lufti and Marjah districts, despite heavy resistance from Fatah Halab militants on Tuesday night.

Initially, reports from both Marjah and Sheikh Lufti indicated that both districts were under Syrian Army control; however, an officer in east Aleppo confirmed that this news was in fact false - they are still contested.
